While students, friends, family and alumni are flocking to Indiana for the notorious Homecoming weekend, the police forces on campus and in surrounding areas are preparing for a hectic event. "Unfortunately, the theme of the celebration is alcohol," said Indiana Police Chief William Sutton. (0) comments

Students have been preparing their floats for the Homecoming Parade for weeks. Although some of the floats come from local organizations, most are made by the members of IUP's fraternities and sororities. Every year, the groups decide on a theme and then pick who they want in their float-building group. (0) comments

Brand New rocks HUB Sunday Night

Bands Brand New and The Builders and the Butchers gave a rockin' performance in the Ohio room at the HUB. The Builders and the Butchers, a bluegrass punk band from Portland, Oregon, opened the show with songs from their eponymously titled album. The instruments the band used were just as interesting as the sound they produced. (1) comment

IUP students look forward to Homecoming Weekend all year long and, as usual, the IUP police will be out in full force. Homecoming can be a great time full of friends, parties and football, but students who want to have fun without getting arrested should keep an eye out for police who will be on horseback, undercover and rolling around in patrol cars.
